OPEN CALL - Brú Artist Residency in Tibet
Brú is inviting two artists from our membership program to take part in a unique residency that encourages dialogue and creative growth in connection with the region, culture, and people of Nangqên.
The Tsenpo Residency is a new international residency program open to all Brú members located in China's Qinghai Province, in the Kham region of Tibet. It’s mission is to promote the peoples and culture of the Tibetan plateau and connect them to the rest of the world by fostering continuity of local traditions and intellectual heritage, engaging Buddhist philosophy, and advocating for the protection of natural resources and sustainable development.
Based at the site of the Tsenpo Museum - the museum is anchored by a multifunctional space called the "glass cube", a flexible sanctuary space which draws in the surrounding landscape and sky and accommodates all kinds of innovative projects. The Glass Cube embodies the spirit of the residency itself, which is to collide and harmonise different bodies of knowledge and lived experiences in order to create and develop new ways of thinking aligned with its mission.
