About Caspian Seal Research and Rehabilitation Center
The Caspian Seal Research and Rehabilitation Centre (CSRRC) was established in 2019 by the Saby Foundation and Central Asian Institute for Ecological Research to protect critically endangered Caspian seals. Located in Aktau, Kazakhstan (33% of the Caspian coastline), the center rehabilitates injured seals, researches habitat threats like pollution and climate change, and monitors seal health. As Kazakhstan’s first modern facility of its kind, it combines advanced technology and expert staff to restore the species.
